This is a very comprehensive approach to learning a piece of music that ordinarily would be beyond my skill set. I've started exploring the D flat Major scale music theory section and can understand now why it is such an important part of the process of learning the piece as something more than a bunch of notes strung together. Next, I'm pretty excited about diving into the Level 1 Practice Plan to start playing the included pieces and exercises!
I am ready to comment on this offering. It is simply amazing! I love the selected pieces and technical material that will eventually help me navigate the actual piece, Clair de lune, but Heidi's arrangement is lovely also. Heidi's words of wisdom about how to approach the piece are very helpful. The next part is on my radar.
Heidi has outdone herself with the Clair de Lune Piano Ladder! Her method of learning any piece is brilliant! But this is beyond that. It is so well thought out and I am loving the challenge of methodically and slowly learning this beautiful composition! Thank you, Heidi!
PS Heidi is also a wonderful, patient, knowledgeable piano teacher and I feel so fortunate to be one of her students.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect with Heidi"s Piano Ladder concept but am very excited with her new product. Breaking down the process of learning a beautiful but complex piece of music, so that each month a different musical concept or aspect can be studied in depth has great value for me.
Heidi has made that so much easier by providing lessons and practice plans with schedules, practice tips, musical selections and technical exercises for skill development and simplified versions of the piece.
I've come to appreciate that learning to play a piece of music well requires so much more than just learning to read notes and rhythm. Hopefully Piano Ladders will help develop abilities for expression, voicing, chord recognition and musical structure analysis.
Very well thought out plan to conquer a complex body of work
